God Sightings

I've preached you to the whole congregation,
I've kept back nothing, God—you know that.
I didn't keep the news of your ways
a secret, didn't keep it to myself.
I told it all, how dependable you are, how thorough.
I didn't hold back pieces of love and truth
For myself alone. I told it all,
let the congregation know the whole story.
(Psalm 40:9-10 The Message)

Testimony is telling others about the things God has done for us and is an extremely important part of the Christian faith. Please share your God sightings by clicking here to fill out our survey

Here is a national website of God Sightings hosted by the One Year Bible:

Here are a few of the God sightings that have been reported by others:
This happened two weeks ago! My brother-in-law, Robert went to work the day after his vacation ended, only to find that the company he worked for had closed for good, no notice! They drove him home since he had a company vehicle, so that left him without his truck! He was sat down to figure out bills and realized that they would be short for the month. The next day, someone knocked on the door. It was a guy that Robert had worked for a while back. He needed Robert to do a job for him and it paid cash, enough to make their bills! This man didn't know where Robert and his family lived, only the area, so he had driven around looking for Robert's truck (which he no longer had). He just happened to knock on the right door. We are all convinced there's only one way that could have happened. God is good!
I continue to see the Lord at work in so many ways. One example of God's grace this last week came in the midst of a car accident. While it is sad, frustrating and confusing that this accident occurred at all, we were very thankful that no one was hurt and minimal damage was done to the vehicles. I believe God was especially at work because the man driving one car had just turned to his fiancee and reminded her to put on her seat belt right before he ran into a car ahead of him. Sometimes God works through our inner promptings. I'm glad he chose to listen.
Some of you know it has been a very trying week for our family. We were in the ER with Lucas on Saturday and Monday because he was having terrible stomach pain and grunting and his face was turning colors. The doctors ended up finding nothing wrong but bad constipation and now Lucas is much, much better—praise God! THEN- I started feeling tired and run down and achy. I thought I was better this morning, but it got much worse tonight when I came home.

I was very sick a few hours ago with chills, bone aches, headache, burning eyes. This was the second day of symptoms and I was getting worse. I drove my wife Jessica crazy by not wanting to touch anything or anyone in case I was contagious- and so she was left to cook supper and care for three children-- one of whom was crying quite a bit—no, that was not me... But thank God, I am feeling a lot better after letting go of my fear of possibly having swine flu and endangering my family and turning everything over to God in prayer. It's incredible what a difference it made! Suddenly I had energy and knew I could be careful without being paranoid, so I walked around holding Isaiah very carefully after washing my hands and then just started immersing myself in prayer-- asking God's forgiveness for doubting Him and letting fear control me. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7). I thanked Jesus for his strength and his healing touch and almost immediately felt better in my mind and spirit as well as my body. I'm still feeling some signs of fever, but now I know that no matter what happens, I will have peace and joy and receive God's healing touch--it's just a matter of time...

What an amazing God we have! It seems when I am most in need and sick and worn out, I can chose to be miserable, give up and give in to fear and depression- or I can chose to trust in God, give thanks that He loves me so much He sent his son to die for me- and suddenly be full of hope and joy because I know the end of the story- and let me tell you- it ends amazingly well--just read His book!

Sorry for the long post, but I had to share what God has done for me. I’m sick of being afraid of others judging my faith. Help me to not be ashamed of the Gospel Lord--what a strange thing for a pastor to say- huh?!?

I do pray you are encouraged and blessed and find yourself trusting in God in the worst of times- for that is where faith truly shines. Know that no matter what you are going through, Jesus loves you and watches over you every moment of every day!
